I finished the Flapjack doll for Mr. Van Orman(). I really hope he likes it!

I, personally, think I did something to be proud of...at least I tried my best. I can say I did it all on my own. I was the one who got on the bus on my own to go to the craft store, bought all the supplies, desgined the whole pattern, tip to toe, knit and sewed the whole thing. Also, I'm very proud I stuck to my morals and didn't ask for cash when it was offered.

I think he's very cute, and cuddly. I like him.

If Mr. Van Orman doesn't like it, I'll tell him I'll try again. He's a very friendly man; I can hope he'll be patient with me.

Anyhow, Flappy here was fun to make, and, quite frankly, he couldn't wait to be born! I had fun thinking of what sort of shapes Flapjack was so I could recreate them in knit form. Flapjack, I think, just looks like a cartoon character should, and I wanted that cartoon-y influence to be evident.

He wasn't difficult to knit;designing the pattern and seeing what matched the proper shapes was difficult. Sewing the hair and hat was the very, very hardest part- I saved that for last. XD Cutting felt and wrestling sewing needles. Just thinking about it freaked me out!

Anyhow, I'll hopefully be able to ship him off this weekend. I think I may have to make one for my own someday- I really fell in love with his little smile!
